The fun continues...
The day after your birthday the weather was great!!! You, Daddy and I headed to the playground and had so much fun. There is a new one at one of the schools and it is great!!
Also you and I got a quilt and went outside for a reading session. Mi Mi and Mommy used to do that a lot and I loved it! Well I guess you are like me because you thought it was the most awesome thing in the world:)
Overall your birthday weekend was a blast and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
Happy #2!!
I know it has taken me forever to get caught up with stuff and have time to blog!
We celebrated your 2nd birthday with a big party at Mi Mi's house. The theme Mommy decided on was Hot Pink and Lime Green polka dots.
I decided to make everything myself instead of buying a cake. I made two kinds of cupcakes, molded bon bon candy, bite size brownies, and we had other treats that were polka dot shaped such as grapes, cheese balls, and ritz crackers with cheese in them. You loved all of your treats, but did not have time to eat your cupcake! You ate a little icing and left the rest. I made a pink lemonade punch and floated limes cut into circles to represent polka dots in it.
We played several games including a polka dot ball toss, pin the tail on the donkey, frog racing, ring toss and a silly string war. I also did a polka dot pool (AKA a ball pit with balls). All of us had a blast with the games!
You got showered with great gifts!! You seemed so overwhelmed you would open one and check it out and then move right on to open another. We did not get very many smiles out of you!!
People in attendance were: Of course Daddy, Mommy, Mi Mi, You, Uncle David, Aunt B, Weston, his friend Reese, Aunt Janet, Krysta, Uncle Eddie, Aunt Dorothy, Aunt Sudy, Uncle James, Mechelle, Aunt Marie, Mrs. Tiffany, Brianna, Ms. Carol (Brianna's Mi Mi) Kendra, Aunt Candi, Robyn and Savannah. We had a great crowd. Aunt Amanda's family was sick and not able to come as well as Mr. Dustin's family. Aunt Lindsay was not able to make it either, but met up with us a few days later. Nanny and Pop Pop couldnt make it either because Nanny was sick, but you loved the Dora chair they got you.
You really had a good time and enjoyed your special day.
After the party Daddy and Mi Mi crashed, but you and I didnt so I took you to the playground for a special treat. You met a little boy and the two of you played really good together.
You told me later that night that your party was SO pretty and gave me a big kiss. To hear that from you made all of the hard work totally worth it!!
I still can not believe how quickly the past two years have gone. I am enjoying everyday with you and love to see you develop right in front of my eyes.
I love you so much!!!
PS Some of my pics did not turn out so well. My camera was not the best that day:(
Happy 2nd birthday!!!!
It is a little after 3am and mommy is on the couch trying to figure out where the past two years have gone!!! I love you so much Nae I hope you have a great party today!!!
The apple of my eye
These are from a few weeks ago I just failed to put them on your blog. When I found this outfit I knew you had to have it. We have been stopped several places when you are wearing it by people wanting to know where I got it...
2 year old pictures
Old Mill 11.04.09
Mi Mi went with me to take pics of you at the Old Mill for your 2 year old portraits. Right now you are so afraid of strangers I am holding off on taking you to someone to take them. So these are some I got.
I can not imagine that in a few short days you will be now officially a "toddler". Where did the time go??
I have enjoyed and treasured every single moment with you over these past two years more than I can even begin to write in words. My life would be so incomplete without you in it.
I love you more than you will ever know my love bug!!!
Halloween 2009
The past two weeks we have been gearing up for Halloween with crafts, treats and lots of fun books.
We also took you to the carnival at our local library which you really enjoyed, but were a little bashful!
Our actual Halloween Day started off great. I got you all dressed up in your "day outfit" and off shopping we went. Granny and Aunt Amber came to spend the weekend with us so they got to go shopping with us!! We had a blast, but all got tired:)
After dinner we ended up going to two different Trunk or Treats at local churches and then to a few houses in our neighborhood. They were great. They had pony rides, blow up houses (which you did not jump in bc of being so little) tons of candy and lots of games!
I figured you would be afraid to go up to people, but after a few times of seeing how much candy you could get you really got into it!! Of course with your choice of costume you really got some compliments!
When we got back you unloaded your Go Hogs Loot bag and were totally shocked at all of your goodies. You got to eat three pieces before I made you stop:)
Next came Halloween PJs and the treat basket from Mommy and Daddy.
You really enjoyed yourself as did we.
We carved our pumpkin the day before Halloween to be sure she was nice and fresh. We ended up with a total of 5 pumpkins this year!! You loved them all. You told us the big pumpkin had to have 2 teeth and be smiley. So that is what Daddy did! You were very into decorating your own little one with all of your art stuff:)
You also helped me decorate the outside of our house as well as the inside and I think you did a great job!!
Some of the funny things you do...
I never know what I am going to find these days. You are very creative and love to do things in your own way. I usually just wait to see what you are going to come up with.
1) Cereal does not belong in a bowl, but rather in a piggy bank.
2) You have your own way of folding and putting up laundry. You love to help with it and I do not discourage you when you try:)
3) Toenail painting is not just for adults to do to themselves. (I ended up with 5 different colors on my big toe)!!!
These are just a few from the past week or so!
A love for cooking
Right now you want to help cook everything! So we move our ottoman over to the counter and you cook away. We have had so much fun and I hope you will always enjoy cooking like Mommy does.
You are getting so big and I am so proud of you!!!
25th Annual Timberfest
October 3, 2009
Daddy and I took you to Timberfest in Sheridan a couple of weeks ago. You had a wonderful time. You were much more excited this time than last year. We gave you the choice of pony rides or doing the petting zoo and you voted for the zoo. I think it was a great decision because instead of riding a pony around in the circle for 3 times you were allowed to stay in the petting zoo as long as you wanted. We stayed about 40 minutes and you loved the animals. The only thing you were afraid of was the pig. You did not want anything to do with it! You thought the other animals especially the rabbits were so neat and you loved feeding them.
Aunt Amanda's family was there also, but we were all busy doing our own thing and didnt get to spend but a few minutes with them.
We told you that you could pick one treat and you chose fresh squeezed Lemonade!! That's my girl:):)
Daddy and I look forward to many more years of enjoying this tradition with you. Paw Paw used to take me every year when it came to town and we would have a blast. I hope you will always love it like I do.
